Having a great time talking to locksmiths to get a spare key cut for my 1983 116 GTV, but a bit over references to hen's teeth and rocking horses ! It's a key with a straight edge on both sides ... have made inquiries of numerous Sydney Alfa gurus and they too are stumped. Tony McKone did - however - give me reason for optimism with his reference to Colditz POW key-makers.

Would appreciate any assistance on this ongoign challenge.

Storm,

If you have keys to copy from, try Clark Locksmiths at 227 the Parade, Norwood. They have supplied and cut the later style keys for me on a few occasions. I have had replacement GTV and 90 keys cut from existing.

I also had a set of door handles and a petrol cap for my GTV6 without keys and they were able to cut them from the locks for me.

Thanks very much GTV6atlast ... have now made an order for keys cut-to-code from the keys4classics website. Fingers crossed.

Storm, might be the solution for you too.

Cheers

Hope it works Imellor, it was mentioned on this site a few months ago, I needed keys then but then my GTV4 bit the dust.

I have a locksmith in bendigo who I have used to get keys cut for my alfetta (when had it) also my 90 and 156 (only the key, will unlock car but not start unless you have the fob nearby) if I get a minute over the next couple of days I will see if he has any blanks.

Hey chaps, surfing my ebay saved searches and low and behold, these keys have now surfaced there. Not only that, they're located in Oz, blanks delivered for $10.

I believe the OP was after the "security" keys with the cuts being made as indentations to the sides. As others have said there is the Canberra keys4classics but I expect any decent master locksmiths would be able to do it (not some place in a shopping mall). For example in Brisbane (Albion) http://www.larsen.com.au/ have in the past (when I last had an 80s GTV) cut keys for it, plus have done Jag XJ40 security keys (yet another weird one) and rekeyed the corresponding jag door locks for me. Most recently (a few weeks ago) they cut the relatively normal 75 keys (like CJ posted the pic of).

The bumps on the side key blanks are keys4classics #054 on the top right of the original link posted - detail at http://www.keys4classics.com/images/054-R.jpg

Hi,
The ignition one is the SILCA GT6 and can be cheaply bought on ebay.
you can try to find the Silca GT2AP (door trunk) spare key and a KI17P (gas tank)
i am still trying to find those in Gold coast :S

i bought some blanks of ebay for the GTV6, sent them to keys4classics - no probs :-)

As long as you can give them the number they can cut the keys.

catch ya
