Hi Daryl S

Have a GTV V6 shell here.
Currently a roller, but will be stripped for panels in the next few weeks.
Has a factory sunroof.
Located in Sydney.
Shame to strip it,but need the room.
Have a look at it and see if it meets your needs.

Rob, does that rolling shell have glass, doors, boot, interior?

Hi Robert,

Thanks for replying.
Is it possible to personal message me some pictures or further information with regards to the rolling shell? The year of the shell, the condition of the car and panels (rust), other bits and peices that may still be attached to the shell (lights, grill etc).

Many Thanks,
Daryl.

Hi Dean and Daryl S

Its a rolling shell at the moment with no doors, bonnet, tailgate etc.
Just a rolling shell.
In my opinion, too good to scrap, but will be in the next few weeks.
Dont know how to do pics on this site.
Has side glass
5-85 ZAR 116C00 Aust comp plate.
Has sunroof= mechanical type.
Would make the perfect race car shell.Donor shell.
Its the ex John Cotter car.

Hi aggie 57

Yes,John Cotters original GTV V6
The one with the Ronal wheels on it.

Its had a few owners,then a 3 litre fitted,but got neglected.
I stripped it for the engine and wheels etc.
In the late 80s,many NSW AROCA members knew the cars
I used to say to Johnny Cotter that I would own his car one day and possibly use them both for my wedding.
I ended up with the Robison car.
Cotter had a partner  in business at the time.Geoff Robison.
They bought a matching set of GTV V6s in white.
I currently own the one owner Geoff Robison car with the 3 litre and Ronal wheels.
Too many cars, which take up space,so the shell has to go= as is or stripped for the panels.

Is this the one, so its not a significant shell just one that had significant bits on it for a while?

From Professor Newby on the AlfaBB
QuoteThe original "Network Alfa" Group A GTV6 that Bond ran in late 84 became the yellow Ignis/Montrose Wine car that Bond ran in the first part of 85, then to Paul Halstead in "Toy Shop" colours (white) for Gregg Hansford and Allan Grice(!) then in 86 to Warwick Rooklyn in blue "Pye" colours for Bathurst 86 with Lucio Cesario. Sold in 87 to John Cotter and then in 89 to Andrew Leithhead. Written off in sports sedan race at Amaroo in August 90. (Reshelled as out and out sports sedan originally with Group A bits, but nothing but the log book remains now!)

Hang on a sec

Im talking about a ROAD car,,not a Race car.
Yes,Cotter did have a Race GTV V6,,but im not talking about that.
Im talking about Cotters Road car= GTV V6

If I had Cotters old GTV V6 race car,do you think I would sell it ?
We can all drool over Hugh Harrisons IGNIS GTV V6.

I never did ask Hugh if his Ignis car was previously black and raced at Winton 6hr in the late 80s.
I remember having pole position at the 6hr,and that car was 6th on the grid by memory.
By the first corner, that GTV V6 was ahead of me.
Gee,didnt it go and sound nice.
At the end of the day,our team beat his team= state of origin = NSW won.
Getting off the subject here,,but great memories.
By memory Phil,,you saw the shell on your visit here a few months ago.

Probably, but I was distracted by all those magnificent 105 shells.....

I guess what I was trying to point out was that if it was a significant car, you would have know about it Rob and not let it go so easily.

Sorry for the off-topic Daryl.

Yes Robert - Hugh's Ignis car is that black one, owned at the time as I recall by Frank Porter who stuck some sticky slicks on it for the top-10 shoot out at one of the 6-hrs and posted a 1.04 something on the short track.  Frank sold it to Mike King who then either sold it to Hugh or someone else and then to Hugh.  Vin may chime and and confirm that.

Mike had a tendency to lunch the gearbox and more, most famously at another club day at Winton where he was told to go easy for the first couple of laps to let the engine warm up.  He didn't......... :'(

Getting back to John's car, I have some pictures of that in a box somewhere at an Alfesta in Mt Beauty.  That would have been the mid-80's.  If I knew where the box was I could dig it out and scan the photo for you but........!!
