... possibly one more Alfa from Canberra.

Gary and Sheryn might be coming along in their 159 as well if it's not too late!

Cheers

Hi All,

l bumped into Doug from the Gemstone caravan park tonight down at the Pub, He tells me he has one cabin left and will hold it for a day or two for anyone from the Alfa Romeo crew who hasn't booked in yet, so if your not booked in then jump to it.
See all the info and phone numbers at the start of this topic. Four out of the Six cabins are booked to the Alfa crews.

Cheers Paul

Hi

Do you have space for a newbie?  I'm keen to get out for a good drive and trying to talk either my father or daughter in to coming along for the ride

Horse power of a different type, nice photography and music, some of the shots look like from around the high country.

To the Famous Alpine Chapter!!!!!

ONLY 3 DAYS TO GO!!!!!!!  CAN'T WAIT

Now, if there are any Melbournites heading up on the Saturday morning, Peter Doig and myself will be meeting at the Wallan BP/McDonalds at 6am, for a *6.15 immediate departure, and then running express to Eldorado General Store to meet the gang.... So anyone heading up, is more than welcome to join us in our little "convoy" up!!!

I'm really looking forward to a superb weekend, with beautiful cars, magnificent places to visit and most of all the amazing company!!!   Can't wait to see everyone again!!! :)

And I also hear, once again....thanks to Mr Alpine Chapter himself: Paul Edwards (aka "SNOWMAN"), that we are all receiving complimentary bottles of wines, and a few other surprises that have been donated to the famous Alpine Chapter!!!!

Snowman... Do you have your ears on Son?....Cos you are "bloody Brilliant"...Keep up the amazing work good buddy.....!!!  This is Baby Bandit...10 4 OUT!!!:D  LOL  :)

See you all there!

Mel

Argh!  woke up this morning to a flat tyre on the 159....wish me luck getting it fixed/replaced!

Update  Tyre has a bloody great chunk of glass in it and is wrecked.  Don't believe I drove far enought this morning to have done the damage (caught it with 500m, and have a tyre dealer < 800m away).  Must have happened last night while driving home and didn't hear/feel it with all the rain...  so far the best I'm being quoted is 2-3 days to get a replacement.

have a couple of options still to check, so fingers crossed.

Matt

G'day all, quick up date for the Nuvolari Tribute Autumn tour.

A few things you need to bring.

Warm clothing for Falls Creek, and Wallaces Hut. The weather can change quickly up in the High Country. The 700mt walk to the Hut is easy and relaxing, on a well made gravel track.

Bring a waterproof coat and an umbrella as “a few showers and clearing” is the forecast for the weekend.

A basic map of country Victoria.

Start both days with a close to full fuel tank. Total k’s for Saturday are around 330km. The sweep car will be carrying 20lts in a jerry can.

FUEL TOP UP AT MT. BEAUTY
the first Caltex on the right, this will save any worries and it’s not a prob. as we are having a coffee break at the same time, so no need to rush around. Good coffee at Treats café straight across the road from the servo.

CAUTION - STEEP GRADIENTS, as a general rule for first timers in the Alps, whatever gear you go up in, you should also descend in, for me that’s third and fourth gear, this will avoid over heating your brakes too much.

Saturday 8am at the ELDORADO GENERAL STORE for a good old country brekkie and a great coffee. The Alpine Express will depart Eldorado station too Mt. Beauty at 9am.

Sunday gathering in WANGARATTA from around 8am in the main St. virtually in the middle of town opposite the new Dick Smith shop (you can’t miss it) There is an Italian café that opens nice and early and has very good coffee. Remember the Politini brunch is only 45mins away so try and hold out.

The entry fee of $45 is designed to cover Saturday Brekkie, entertainment on Saturday night, Brunch on Sunday at Politini wines and the sweep cars fuel for the weekend.

Saturdays buffet lunch is at the Gate way Café Falls Creek, $18. Per person.  We have space reserved for the cars and a table for approx. 30 people.

Saturday night’s group dinner in the Burgandy Room is booked, order off the menu. Please note: order early as possible.

Tatong Pub is putting on a spit roast for Sundays late lunch, around 1.30pm.

Cheers Paul
