Hello - I've just bought a 2017 Giulietta Super that doesn't have the original entertainment unit. Apparently that died at some stage and was replaced by a Pioneer head unit. The issues are:

- The control buttons on the steering wheel weren't connected.

- The date and time can't be changed on the dash because I think for this model that was something that needed the OEM head unit to do.

Do you reckon this is something an Alfa specialist would be able to fix (connect the Pioneer to the steering wheel controls, and find a way to change the date and time (in that regard, some Google research suggests that the car can be instructed that the OEM is gone and that the buttons on the dash should now come into play)). Or an auto-electrician?

I am in Sydney on the North Shore, if anyone can recommend someone.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Moose

Try Aerpro, they have products that interface between steering wheel buttons to the head unit.

Thanks - I ended up taking it to Downie & Downie in Brookvale who were able to relatively easily connect the Pioneer head unit to the steering wheel controls as the loom was still in place (a win!), but changing the date is a longer term project that they are looking into. They said they roll back some of the software in the car, but are concerned that may have unintended consequences. So the saga continues...
