data pic. Here is a data snapshot from Alfa Island that compares Sheldons 90 to my 155 - also I have added a lap from "my" giulietta, now owned by Brent hampstead - this lap was done back in Dec of 2005. You can see that the guilietta had much more grip than the 155 does, but that the 155 is (a lot) faster.... And that Sheldon is faster through turn one regardless...

That's really cool information Jim but really - only 1:52?  Come on man!!  I mean, a 2.5 GTV6 running Dunlop R's, 30mm bars etc can do sub 2 minutes and the 911 does at least 1:55 on standard street tyres, probably a couple of seconds less when pushed.

You're a good 6 seconds faster than than the 911 on the Winton short track as well so are you running out of revs at the island in the 155?

Well, its true, as you can see from the video there are a number of places where the car can go faster - the data shows that it could do in the 40's easily enough at the present, however i did actually do a 1:51! last time I was at PI with this car, it was only capable of 2:00.57 - the fact that it is so much faster has me over running the corners. The cars clutch is letting go in 4th and 5th at high boost which is, both disconcerting and forcing me to turn the boost down. Its acceleration through the kinks after southern loop and Siberia is a tad disconcerting, but I agree with your thinking that the car can go faster :) - And it will!

Definitely - look forward to seeing that!

I have to admit all this activity is getting me keen to have a track car again.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

The Club would like to compile a good video record of last weekend to be able to share with other States who were unable to attend.

Please post your videos soon so we can put them together.

Thanks,

Very good incar footage. Thanks, very interesting. Data also very interesting.

So fast at this early stage, in a relatively standard car, relatively heavy.

congrats on 1:51

Yes I have the Zender wing on my car.  Have done for over a year.  PM me if you need any more information, no need for it to be in a thread featuring pictures of the weekend.

A couple of pics of the 159

I didn't take any photos, but I had my video camera and took a bit of footage of nothing in particular.  The camerawork is shaky, but the little handicam picks up the nice audio pretty well.  Here's a bit of a montage:

Apologies it gets a bit self-centred at the end...
