Remember also that you can get a pre-purchase inspection done by a Alfa dealer or Alfa Specialiast.

If you are going to spend say $100 on this indicating your intertion to buy, then it should be ok for the owner to agree to have it done.   Alternatively, with their consent, you may have the chance to check the service record, get an opinion &  give them a call direct.  Does not always work, but worth a go.

When I purchased my 156 Sport in Brisbane, Alfamotive did the check for free as I was a club member - and then a paid for the car and drove it back to Melbourne. A suprising benefit offered on the day.
