Seeking starter motor for 159 TBi

Hi all, my 159 wouldn't start yesterday afternoon and after some troubleshooting (battery test, unsuccessful battery boost, successful roll start, unsuccessful cold start so not crank sensor) the diagnosis seems to be the starter motor is shot. Mechanic advises that the only available is in Italy and 12 weeks away (and nearly $600). Tried with my usual UK folks but not listed on site.
Anyone got any ideas for sourcing one?
Cheers, Matt.

Thanks as always bazzbazz, I don't know why my (Alfa registered) mechanic doesn't know this.
For the time being I've taken the kind advice of a forum member here and picked up a lightly used one from a wrecking Giulietta QV. Just over $100 so not too much of a punt I think.

Is it as big a job as the mechanic is warning me? "Most of a day"?

Never done one on a 1750TBi, but as it is arranged similar to a 2.0JTS in layout I can't see it being a problem. There's a lot more room in the 159 engine bay to access things compared to a 156.
