 I was here

poohbah

Geez that's sad.

It'd even be worth doing just enough to preserve it as is, as a piece of auto-art. I reckon the black skivvie crowd would ooh-aah if that was sitting on polished concrete in an inner city gallery somewhere.

That is a damn shame for a model of this rarity and beauty being left to disintegrate to the elements.

As the day goes

Did the owner  die? Or was it write off and left in the paddock?

bazzbazz

Let me guess, he is waiting for it to reach its maximum potential in price before he sells it.  ::)

Yes is a shame. I'd still like to pick over the carcass for my project.

Les Smids

It is a shame, but I wouldn't mind having a chat with the owner. There will still be a number of parts that can be salvaged that could assist us Monty owners keeping the remaining vehicles on the road or complete. That picture reminds me of a Monty imported from the UK...also orange, with the 'B' pillar consumed by the elements, to name one issue.

Yeah, just because they got dipped at the factory didn't make them impervious to rust...

BTW if there are any Montreal owners with spares reading this thread I am still chasing some original wheel arch flare sections to repair mine. Don't really want to pony up for  whole NOS guards out of Europe. Just need the right profile for my metal wizard to recreate... :)

did they find the spot of rust?
