brake pads won't fit

Folks,

Looking for suggestions. I am trying to replacee front brake pads on the '81 GTV.

Bought a set from Repco - Tru-stop DB2TS which according to the store, and online - should fit.

I have pushed the pistons in as far as I can (flat to the caliper bracket), but the pads just won't slide in.

There is a raised rim around the edge of the piston hole which seems to be the reason.

So my question is - have I just been sold the wrong pads, or is there something else I can/should do?

Hi Poohbah
The pistons must be fully retracted to enable fitment of new pads. Just be careful that cap of  disc brake fluid reservoir is removed and any excess fluid when performing this procedure is appropriately captured.

Cheers Bonno, managed to get them in after a bit more finagling.

(and a twist on Bazz's suggestion - not a bigger hammer, just more brute force...)
