Not sure if it's just me, but I'm getting an error message when I try to visit the Alfa Bulletin Board. Is anyone else having difficulties too?

bonno

No problem with access from my end 10:00Hrs @ ESDT today.

They upgraded the site recently  :(( a week or so back).

If you had a saved link, you may need to get on and resave it as it has slightly altered. I had the 'forums' link saved and it changed to this now,

http://www.alfabb.com/forums/

Cheers.

Aah that's sorted it - yes I was trying to access it from a bookmark. Thanks for the new link!
Edit: Can't say I'm a fan of the new format  :o

Sounds like the site has been sold to commercial interests. But will retain existing moderators

Attention all BB Members

The change has happened, it's a big change and it has resulted in widespread unhappiness among many users. We moderators did not initiate these changes, were not consulted on them and we can't reverse the clock on any of the changes.

At present, multiple threads with multiple posts on multiple issues are going unanswered because the Verticalscope IT Administrators are only monitoring the following post for User/Member complaints and queries --> https://www.alfabb.com/threads/we-are-live-community-feedback.689346/#post-8492405

Accordingly, this particular complaint thread, together with all other complaint threads and any new complaint threads have been locked. Please post any complaints, queries and issues to the thread linked above, which is monitored by the Verticalscope IT staff who have the power and ability to fix things.

In the meantime, we moderators have created a "Tips & Tricks to survive the BB Migration" thread: https://www.alfabb.com/threads/tip-tricks-to-survive-the-move-to-the-new-bb-software.689538/. All members with any tip, trick or POSITIVE suggestion on how to make navigation around the Nuovo BB easier and more user friendly can post it here. Please be aware that negative posts will be deleted and repeated complainers will be disciplined as is customary on the Alfa BB.

Sincerely

Your Moderators

I'm over trying to decipher content from adverts on the new AlfaBB forum, they can have it.
I look forward to contributing here in the future

You guys need to give it some more time.  Yeah, some of the things we were used to have changed and yeah a couple of things need fixing (notably you can't delete posts or edit them after 24 hours) but with a bit of familiarity it's actually pretty easy to use, all the old content is there, and it's still far and away the most useful forum for classic Alfa owners on the planet.

It's also way faster than the old version, which was suffering constant performance and availability issues in recent years.

To be honest aggie57 I can spend my time better else where...

Note that I use to delete a lot of my unnecessary post after a day or so as the BB is flooded with irrelevant posts that just clog up threads with BS.

Sorry but i'm over the BB, ciao ciao and welcome AROCA.

LOL, I was until I realised it's owned by the same knuckle heads as the BB who simultaneously upgraded  Alfaowner dot com site to the same bill board formatted site as the BB. Good luck to them all. I'm not interested and trust that the AROCA site will keep to the K.I.S.S. motto (Keep It Simple Stupid).

Note that we live in the luck country with World Class Alfa specialists and fanatics :)

It was easy to spend 30 + minutes a day on the BB,,but now about 5 minutes.
Don't like the new Format,,and a Lot of others agree.

Somehow it is a discouragement.

Once I used to enjoy following the meandering of a vaguely technical thread, even if not posting.  It was just the "ambience" of the forums.

Now it's like a sharp chair, you leave soon as you are done with what you came there for.

Really?  Didn't realise that, I don't have a modern Alfa so have no real need to go to that site.  But not surprising given they own so many forum sites.

Overall I'm finding it pretty easy to use now.  The inline ads are a pain, but chatting to one of the moderators this week (who is also a regular at our weekly Cars and Coffee) it seems that is more a result of them not having as much time to clean spam threads up because they were snowed with new site questions.  But that seems to be improving again now, I'll ask him Saturday if things are settling down.

Regardless, for me in the end it's more about the people and the content.  In that regard AlfaBB is far and away the leading forum for classic Alfa owners.  The information there and willingness of people to help is amazing.  A few changes to the format doesn't change that.
