If it was someone elseís fault why donít you just claim on insurance and let your insurance company sort it out with the person at fault?  I have seen plenty of quarter panels new listed overseas. Ps I would just continue to drive it as much as you want.

Alfa Romeos have been my daily driver for 35 years I have had suds, Alfetta's and alfa75's I have a 156 it's a FIAT is not an Alfa and it is a very ordinary car. I also have a 3.0R Subaru it is much [100BHP] faster than my GTV6 and it is boring to drive, why would I not want to drive my GTV6 on a daily basis I have owned it for 25 yrs no other person has turned a spanner on it since I have owned it. I know every nut, bolt, and wire and the reason the car is still a daily is because of my ability to keep it going. I do not mean to offend anyone It's that right now I really do have the SHITS.

Insurance is being discussed as we write. The panels are few and far between some of the panels on line are early gt/gtv and different to gtv6

Thanks, Carlo for the link. Today I have sent a video to the bus company showing both front and rear views of the incident. I will need to wait for future correspondence with their insurance company to see if they accept liability. And I need to be careful what I say here. The problem I see will be the determining the value of a 35 year old Alfa Romeo that is definitely not in the insurance industry "Red book".

And to add insult to injury today I checked with my rego inspector who said he will pass the car with the damage as is, the rego is due next week. I approached two employees of a well-known crash repairer across the road and asked if anyone there could reshape the guard, one of the two, the smartarse said "yep I'll get a bar and push it in further" I turned my back on him and said thanks for the input.

Theyíre out there. Is Dale Murphy too far (Heatherbrae)?

Honestly, shipping a large ďNOSĒ panel is fraught. Most freighters officially exclude such items from their list of insurance-acceptable cargo (but will take it no liability). And you want the fastest freight, itís the least time for gorillas to go ape with it.

What is access like from inside the car?

I think he still just trades as Dale Murphy.

See if heís inclined to offer his two bobís worth if you can drop by after shift. Heís an old schooler and would probably get it mostly out with wiggle wire, spotter, all that. One of the few blokes who is not afraid to repair a steel petrol tank with appropriate precautions. Otherwise his mate Grahame around the corner (Extreme Blasting) might have suggestions on who to ask.
