JTS and TS driveshafts/ Replace CV's or 2nd hand driveshaft?
« on: April 16, 2019, 11:55:22 PM »
I've left a split CV boot unattended for too long and need to replace the CV on my RHS driveshaft.

Two Q's if anyone can help out!

Are TS and JTS driveshafts exactly the same or more broadly, are all 156/147 4cyl driveshafts interchangeable?

Furthermore, is it worth replacing the CV's and booties on current RHS driveshaft, or just get a good 2nd hand driveshaft and replace?

02/2001 156 TS is the car in question

Many thanks in advance,

Jake

The catalogue makes a distinction between left and right, although to me they look the same. Service parts are identical left to right.

The 156 series 1 2.0TS driveshaft part number 46307304 applies to 2.0 facelift 156 and the '03-'10 2.0 GT models also. I suspect the 147 has a marginally narrower track, at least the front.

I assume we are talking inner CV boot here?

Just replace the CV joint and boot with a new ones, they are less expensive than you think.

TS & JTS CV joints are the same.
