Hey ,

Does anyone have any instructions/diagrams for the LH front window reg setup on a 78 Alfetta Sedan?

Can only seem to find info on the GTV setup.
Im getting closer to getting it right, but my patience is diminishing!

Thanks,

Luke

My gtv6 cable replacement was a complete b!tch  one of the best things i did was to get video of the other side working. Helped a heap.
'83 GTV6 - 3.0 is in! Ohhh yeah!
'99 156 T-spark - Formula 98 ready!

What do people do with their old 2.5...?

I already pulled off the other side which gave me a good idea, they arent the same because they rotate opposite ways of course but good for an idea.  Was just hoping someone had a pic of the passengers side to make life easier .
I'm pretty close, just gotta work out the correct lengths to run through the window clamps so i can get the correct tension.
Will attempt it when i have a few hours spare and dont already have the shits.
When i work out the process that works for me i will record it and post it.

Thanks guys

Its just about the biggest PITA job you can do. Did it twice on my GTV and each time it took hours and multiple attempts doing as Sportivo described. When cable actually snapped recently, I decided to let the workshop do it.

Even they hated doing it.

Ive got some 75 doors with electric regs sitting there. Am tempted to do a retrofit. If the rear seats fit into the Alfetta who knows, could get lucky.

For an easy install into an Alfetta you need the window mechs from a 90.

75 doors are good if you are putting them in a Guiletta.

Not sure you can make them work without a lot of work.

Installing electric window mechanisms into a windup car (GTV) was a horrible job! Make sure you lubricate the cable once you have it together and before you put the door skin back on. I used a garage door lube as it dries and hopefully won't get too much muck stuck to it over time. Certainly improved the window speed.

I couldn't find a simple way of doing it. Just trial and error and infinite patience. I had to come back to the job two or three times for each side as I was getting crankier and crankier.
