I found a response to my question (in a forum on this website) but it was four years old. So, I thought it maybe wise to ask again in the hope some member can assist.
(1) I have found a Giulietta for sale – located at Rockdale NSW. This makes it a little problematic since I reside in Melbourne. (2) Can any member suggest an Alfa Romeo dealership/agent/mechanic or other I could contact to do an inspection of the car.
(3) It has been explained the car is in immaculate condition which isn't quite the case. It has some scratching to the metallic duco on one side of the grille. I was given a price of $450 to rectify this! Further, it has only ever had one service. In fact it should have had 2.  Thank you in anticipation.

Hi Ricardo
You should be able to organise a mobile vehicle inspection service on the car. No experience with any, but a search on the net should be able to find something such as Redbook, NRMA, MrTune, etc, etc.
Cheers

If it's already yielded two disappointments sight unseen, money not paid - unless you are wanting to be unhappy - why burn more cash?

Good afternoon, thanks for your replies. In the previous post it was strongly suggested that one get an Alfa Romeo specialist. Or, at least a person who is familiar with the mechanics of an Alfa Romeo. It was suggested one avoid the NRMA and other private specialists who offer vehicle inspections and only have a general understanding.

You don't say which model (engine) you are looking at or its mileage, so its hard to give a detailed answer.  That said, there is NOTHING in these cars that won't be found in any other car today (multi air unit is the exception perhaps?)

Any half decent inspection place (RACV/NRMA) will be able to tell you if the vehicle has any technical issues, and paint/trim/finish. I'd suggest whomever is telling you otherwise either has no idea themselves or loves a bit of drama.

It's just a car..
