So how does one get away with this?

I was taking a little wander through Gumtree today and stumbled upon this gorgeous looking little Spider -

As for the title of this post, I direct your gaze to the Steering Wheel, looks fantastic, but in Queensland it would cost you a defect notice and a $375 fine for removing the drivers airbag, trust me, ask my youngest son, he found out the hard way. (YES, I did tell him, several times. YES, he did tell me I was an idiot and had no idea what I was talking about, several times. YES, I did try and find the officer so I could buy him a slab, several times . . . . )

So, is this thing legal in NSW, can one get an exemption? Because I know you've got about as much chance as getting it to pass a road worthy here in Queensland as the local Alfa Dealership having a stroke and giving me a brand new Giulia QV to "Test Drive" for a month.

Gentlemen, I await your enlightenment.  :)

Ahhhh, the penny just dropped. It's either a fake add, or the second photo is fake, probably sourced from overseas. Take a look at the steering wheel in the first photo and you notice it is standard.  ::)

Outrageous, isn't it? Think of the danger to women and children, the elderly and infirm, that this heinous modification to a modern car represents. It will frighten the horses! In fact, it's nothing but a death trap!  :)
