Hey,

Can someone please point me in where i can find it in the 98 gtv. Have looked over the net and nothing is where stated, i brought this car from a bloke who i would consider as a butcher.
The ignition barrel was broken so i ordered anew lock cylinder with 4 keys 4 door locks and boot etc. Can start the car as i moved the antenna away so picks up main key. There is also a random part of the loom which looks to have been gutted and im hoping that was not where the diagnostic port was connected.

If its anything like my 156, you have to open the dash panel above your right knee that opens on to the fusebox, and the OBD connection is accessible from there.
Now:    2002 156 GTA
            1981 GTV
Before: 1999 156 V6 Q-auto
            2001 156 V6 (sadly cremated)

I think '98 is when Alfa made some changes to this model. Depends if it's a phase 1 or 2 also. For the phase 1 diagnostics are individually connected to components and are a 3 pin plug. I'll grab some pics for you later, but from memory the main module 3 pin is on left side of centre console, there's a panel you remove in passenger footwell. Airbags should be under rear seat. ABS is in engine bay attached to the ABS module. I think the key module is part of the main, but maybalsi have a seperate 3 pin plug. I don't think it mattered which size engine you have, but engine style will give you an idea of which phase the 916 module is. Anyhow, I'll get back to you with some images of there location or even a link

If its a PH1 vehicle the following link will give you the locations. (with photos) It uses several 3 pin plugs and not a single 16 pin plug.

If it's a later model then it will be a single 16 pin OBD plug above the Fuse/Junction box by the drivers right knee.
