'67 Duetto refurb - two questions
« on: February 13, 2018, 11:33:03 AM »
Hi Brainstrust

1.  Did they come out of the factory with seatbelts at all?
2.  If so, what were they like - plastic? metal? emblem? make?
3.  Am I right in thinking the original fusebox should be have 10 (as opposed to 8) fuses?

Thanks in advance.

Australia was the first country to make seatbelts mandatory, commencing with vehicles manufactured after 1 Jan 1969. So its really ulikely that yours was fitted with seatbelts. Some cars had seatbelts available as an option - you should be able to tell by looking at the seatbelt mounts on the floorpan. However, in this era it would have only been lap belts. For registration in Victoria, you do not need seatbelts. But if you do fit them, they must be lap/sash. Hemco seem to be the manufacturer of choice for most restorers. The upper sash mount can be tricky for some vehicles of this era (especially soft tops).

My RHD 1600 Duetto was sold [to] Australia in August 1966.
[It was originally] AR514 Farina Red - unsure what it will become

Fuse box has ten (10) fuses
It has very old (fixed) seat belts - but these were not originally fitted

Let me know if you need any other info - car is currently under restoration and in a million pieces (down to the internal chassis, all outer panels removed)
However, i will be visiting it this Saturday 3/03/18 so can take any pics you like
