Mobile phone holder

Morning all,

I'm currently using an air-vent attached MP holder (as I am a law abiding type) with a radio-bluetooth attachment stuck in the cigarette lighter. hen I say 'stuck', I mean, it's in there until I hit a suitably large bump and then it falls into the footwell....
I'm not keen on changing the head unit for a more modern BT-compatible one as I like the original look, but I might invest in one of the CD-Changer plug in units like this:

I know a couple of others have been recommended on the forum, and have looked at those also.

My question for the day is: has anyone found a satisfactory mobile phone-holder solution that doesn't involve cutting into the dash, or using those ugly-as-hell sucker devices (mine always fall off if parked in the sun anyway).
I have seen a couple of two-piece items that either hold the phone to the left of the centre console angled-in, or just below the centre air vents. Both seem to add up to quite a lot of cash in/when converted to AUD and shipped here.

If people on the forum have positive experience with them, then I might stump up the cash, but thought it worth asking first.

Thanks

Spencer

I hate to say it but I'm a sucker for the sucker myself.

Puts the phone in a nice "heads up" position and most modern ones don't fall off much if the window is clean and grease free.

For me, the only thing I'm thinking of evolving to is a headunit with screen and Android Auto or whatever they call it these days. But I wont like the lower position of the screen.
Past: 180SX | 300ZX Twin Turbo | 350Z HR Roadster | 300C 5.7 V8 HEMI | 98 GTV 2.0 TS
Present: 2002 GTV 2.0 TS | 147 TS | 74 Super Beetle | Porsche Cayman S 987.1
Future: I've stopped looking. Wife says "No more Alfas" lol.

Understand. Have considered this myself. Could get a reasonable double DIN unit with screen but as you say, lower position.
