Dear all,

How time flies and the competition year has progressed somewhat.

Round 7 of our sprints, Sandown Saturday 2 September.

Local close by sprints for all, great track, great for speed and some testing corners and curves.

Attached are the Supp Regs, Entry form and Scrutineering sheet.

Be warn, enter early as it will fill out quickly.

Regards
Neil

A call out to any racers out there still contemplating on entering, best to do so by this weekend, fill up and entry fee goes up, so save yourself some cash for fuel and get your entry in now.  Just doing you a favour.

Pretty good entry field for Sandown, good number of classic and modern Alfa's including Mito, GT, 156, 147 etc entered.  Also plenty of other makes.
Wood fired oven Pizza van on site for a touch of Italian flavour.
Gates open 7am for officials and competitors.
Track action starts with practice at 9am then timed session from 10am, all day until 5pm or we run out of cars which ever comes first.
Plenty of cars to look at and admire.
Club is also having a car boot sale, so bring your Alfa bits down, you will never know, might be some spares for those on the track to keep their cars going for the day.
If you want to help out as an official, most welcome, come and see the crew.
See you there.

Weather for Saturday looks promising!

Sandown is so convenient for competitors, spectators and officials.  We are very fortunate to have a track of this quality so close to Melbourne.

The car boot sale is a great opportunity to get rid of some junk and replace it with someone else's junk!

Just had a look at the Supp Regs.  85+ entries - 18 of them Alfa's - should be a great day.

Not Sure.  11:00am < 1:00pm I think!  Definately during the lunch break.

What a fantastic day at Sandown, a great variety of Alfa's and other marques turned up for some speed fun on the track.
Thanks to the following for making the day ever so excellent and smoothly run.
Alan Morrison, Colin Edwards, Ross Earls, Evan Bottcher, Geoff Vernon, Malcolm Powell, Mandy Thompson.

A small group but with little to no incidents, there wasn't much attention needed.

So thanks to all for running the show and those who competed.

Thanks for your comments Neil, much appreciated.

Looking out the window this morning I think we dodged a bullet weather wise!

Big thanks from me to Colin Edwards for doing a lot of the heavy lifting in race control with radio Comms and event logging - amoung other things!

Also thanks to Ross Flood, Alan Hopla, David Floyd and Joe Ardi and others for passing all of their knowledge on to new guys like me. David, thanks for your excellent event management documentation, it was invaluable yesterday.

Have a great Father's Day everyone!

Wow, yep, look at the weather today, we certainly had a great day yesterday.  The weather god shined on Alfa's.

Sandown has pretty tight sound level restrictions.  Caught out a number of entrants on the day.  We're looking at doing our own testing of cars at the 12 Hour and at Winton again in November.
We'll be able to record a sound reading and export the data to printable file with graphical and tabular display.  We'll endeavor to measure 30metres from the track apron as specified by Sandown.
The result will just be a guide and should not be used to argue against a subsequent naughty!
