Hey Nice..... I need a 105 spider to round out my 'set' too!

Throw up some pics when you get a chance.

There was one on Carsales a few weeks back (lemon yellow with black trim) looked real nice for the money - Up in Sydney I think.

Well I saw it one afternoon, gone by the next day lunch time! Gotta be quick!

Cheers.

Dont know what is going on, but these classic alfas have a ready waiting market , who would ever think, i guess people finally realise what we knew all along ,   pick her up tomorrow , she wont win any prizes at a concourse but she is an honest car , sound mechanically, paint is good , drives beaut, interior not the best , she is red, all trims are there , a little rust ,nothing structural , price was ok .. as far as interior, already have my eyes on a set of period seat covers from classicalfa , looks like a nice place to shop....

Ha, just quoting this for prosperity 🙂
They're beautiful cars, go in with your (105) eyes open.

Classic are brilliant to deal with too,

I am a realist , 1972 was a long way back , in the old days it was close to retirement age , a little bit of blemish is what i expect , was not looking for something fully restored or concourse, wanted something so i could clean up myself , eyes wide open, no rust in engine bay, has been treated in rust prevention paint, no rust in crossmember , and none in boot spare tyre well, none in wheel wells , or under carpet in cabin, regardless it's gonna get the fish waxoyl bath .  Yes u cant get emotion get the bettr when looking at one of these , in fact after inspecting car for a couple of hours did walk away to calm my emotions , of course when buying vintage surprises may come..

I am shattered but not down n out yet.  As i previously stated here , purchased or was about to a s 2 spider 1972 . With bank cheque in hand went to pick her up yesterday , 3 hours on the train n drive her home . First inspection of car,  weather was not great , duco looked good mind u a couple of raindrops n i could not really get right underneath her to really inspect but what i could c looked ok.  Yesterday sun was out n my word, looked like another car ,to my displeasure , duco was quite bubbly, pimpley in places , underneath well well, she was somewhat rusty , a little i can handle, but to the extent where some paneling had actually disentegrated with rust, i really got cold feet very quickly , considering the modest amount of cash i was throwing at her this was not good , my pockets are not deep enough to rectify what this baby needed, thus i quickly retracted and was apologetic , caught a cab back to train station n 3 hours later safely home n bank cheque still in pocket..

Search goes on for the right one...

I guess that's the best call... walk away...

Unless you wanted to go down the full restore path and the price reflected that.

Back to the drawing board, as they say....

Cheers.

Thanks GTV, actually the price that i would have paid definitely did not reflect the standard of the product, would have been ripped off.
