Hi
I am looking at replacing the standard Air Filter element, with a foam filter unit  utilized on the standard European Air box.  Replacing/discarding of the standard  European Air box is not an option, as I would like to increase fuel efficiency and performance (even though marginal), but still keep the originality of car.   I have searched e-bay and made some enquiries with local suppliers,  without  any luck. Does any one know of an agent/supplier Sydney (preferably) or Australia of these foam filter elements (UNI, other type brands).

Thanking You in Advance

The k and n filter that fits to the rectangular air box is excellent I'd go with that  option it retains originality and a small upgrade from the original paper filter

Thanks Alfapride

My Alfetta GTV4 is fitted with the cylindrical type European Air box. I will check out the K&N website and see availability/suitability for cylindrical type European Air box.

Thanks Alfapride and Fetta GTV for the leads and info

The unit available from Centreline and manufactured O/S will do the job. My investigation involving K&N revealed they have a suitable unit, but has listed it against the Giulia and not the Alfetta GTV 4 and again is manufactured O/S. The technical description Lgth, ID & OD suggest it is suitable. They can supply through their website or locally through their authorised agent/supplier. Contacted the local parts supplier/agent and was advised that there is also a local manufacturer of UNI foam filter for my car that they are able to supply.
Link to website : http://www.uniflow.com.au/index.html
and go to catalogue.

Please note that manufacturers claim the associated benefits over the OEM paper air filter, such as fuel efficiency, increase throttle response and power, however like all things they need to be used strictly iaw their recommendations.

Cheers

Hi fellow Alfistis
My enquiries  for a sports air filter element with K&N Filters (on line chat), has revealed that they do not stock a unit that will fit my vehicle. The standard paper filter element measures 360mm Long x 70mm ID x 120mm OD. They can produce a unit only if they have the mould. Due to the difficulty associated with supply of these elements,  I might have to reconsider replacing the entire standard European Air box system with ram tubes and sports air filter combo, with a backing plate to support the carburettors.

Hi Carlo
Sorry to hear about the incorrect K&N filter. Suggest that you go on the K& N website and under search go to "Search by dimension" Height x Outside Length and Outside width.  I notice that the size you provided for the filter is missing the Height dimension. Type in these dimensions  and it should spit out a Part Number for a K&N filter that matches your existing Rectangular Air Box, if available.

Carlo
Do you have the LxWxH dimensions for your flat top Air Filter currently fitted to the vehicle. If so, then the K& N website Search functionality will provide you with availability. The manufacture of your own foam filter is not recommended, as poor design/workmanship/materials could lead to a catastrophic failure (engine fire/carb backfire).

The dimensions provided were used on the K&N website and has revealed no filter available. See  print screen shot taken on my enquiry.
