I am preparing a set of front suspension components for sandblasting and new paint, but I have the following questions,

How do people normally remove the upper ball joint? Just cut the rivets and punch the cut rivets out?

How do you refit the upper ball joints? I don't think they carry great loads so do people just use high tensile nyloc nuts and bolts?

Is there any trick to getting the lower ball joints out of the arms? I've tried hitting the joint out but no luck so far. Does anyone heat the arm?

All ball joints are in good condition so don't need replacement if they come out in one piece.

Sportiva, Thank you for your reply. The arms are already out of the car as they are spares I had in the garage. What I want to know is how to get the joints out of the arms.
