The last time our car was out om the track we had a little mishap where the back left hand wheel came flying off at Winton Raceway due to wheel bearing failure. So now she is off the track for the rest of the year getting a full overhaul from front to back. New bushes have been ordered and are there way. We are changing the wheels from 16 to 17 inches and its also getting s supercharger set up to.

When you say wheel bearing failure, do you know if the bearing seized up, due to lack of grease, or did the nut 'unstake' itself, always best to use new nut, as they are a one use item only, Colin.

Those rear wheel bearings cause so little trouble, they tend to get overlooked.
The rear drums on mine, well the shoes very rarely wear out before the wheel cylinders start to leak, so the drums come off every 15 years or so, and the grease isn't looked at.
Unlike the front wheel bearings, they can have all sorts of problems, Colin.
