Hi all. This forum has been a great source of information over the year I've had my 156, I appreciate it! Unfortunately, I'm in a spot of bother at the moment, though.
I've managed to lose my one and only key. I've been ringing around all the locksmiths in Adelaide, most end up sending me back to the same person who doesn't know how to do it, but will happily charge me $350 to try, the other's have flat out said they cant.

Does anyone have any tips as to how to get my car back up and running? Know of any locksmiths that would know what to do? I THINK I've got the card with the code on it, though I cant be certain, as I'm obviously unable to get into my glovebox to check.

From what I've researched, a locksmith can cut the key from the code on the card, then program the transponder from there. Not sure what the real difficulty is? No one has the tools to access the ECU? I wonder if I can get the key cut, and bypass the immobiliser with the accelerator pedal + code? At least then there's a chance I can drive it to a locksmith and troubleshoot with them...

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Sam

Not much help I can provide but maybe talk to my Alfa mate, Peter Axford at Eurosport, 08 8362 2333.  He will know something, at least he is in SA.

Thanks Neil. I found one of your previous posts recommending him and gave him a call. He put me onto Brendan Jackson from Adelaide Automotive Locksmiths who managed to cut me a new key and program the transponder! Highly recommend him and Peter!
