Agreed.  This time last week I was in Roma, loving the mid-30s temps.  Got off a plane in Melbourne to 5 degrees, in shorts and t-shirt.  How far south you going Joe?  Thanks for the updates btw, loving them.

Ha!!  We probably passed each other somewhere in Rome.

I did Turin, Verona, Venice, Florence, San Gimignano, Siena, and Rome.  Beautiful weather everywhere, other than the storms in Venice every day at the same time every day, a bit like Darwin.

I also did a days drive up to Maranello from Florence to check out the Ferrari museum.

Joe Falcone

Wow. You did just as good.

The Alfa Romeo heritage "rinascimento" (renaissance) continues in each and every new model...the first "rinascimento" being 1915.

Sheldon McIntosh

Yeah, the FXX K was stunning close up, as was the F150.

And the Laferrari drivetrain.

Ferrari museo overall was well worth the 4 hour round-trip.  And the drive was in a Giulietta, mostly on the Autostrada, following a well-driven black Giulietta at very illegal speeds, so no hardship at all really.

And quite a good spot to watch the Austrian GP qualifying.

Joe,

The place in the photos looks familiar. Is there a restaurant in one of the hotels and a night club/strip club around the corner?

Joe Falcone

Its the souvlaki bar down near where all the buses wait. The place looks a bit iffy but the tucker and beers good.

Oh ok. Probably no where near lido riccio. Good restaurant there over looking the beach.

Agreed food is good in Italy and cheap. $25 Wood fire Pizza in Melbourne is 5euro in Italy. Therefore you get 3 Pizzas for the price of one pizza in Melbourne.

The Figa must be amazing during this time.  ;D
