Hello fellow members,

I wonder if some one can point me to right direction.

I drive 2009 159 1.9 jtdm 75k miles , last week while driving back from work mycar experienced sudden  loss in engine power and stopped on highway , called racv the guy found out the turbo hose came off. He did cleaned the hose and oil in turbo and refit it back . The car started sounds normal but still there is serve loss of power , I drove 5 km  then the engine light came on ( have engine checked message) Limp mode.

Today I changed engine oil , filter and added dpf cleaner to the fuel but still no improvement.  I have to rev to 3000rpm just to reach 60

Any help would be appreciated could it be erg or dpf issue?

Or a split or leaking hose.
Given the hose was the initial issue I'd check to see that it isn't leaking (air/boost) somewhere.

There are two boost hoses.
1. Turbo to intercooler,
2. Intercooler to intake manifold (via EGR)

A lack of expected boost (due to leak) will send the ECU into spasms.
You also get lots of soot under WOT as the mixture is rich.

I replaced both my boost hoses at 160Km or so, bottom hose had split, top was about to.

Yes, I have seen on quite a lot of these cars whilst servicing them that there is another nearby hose with a clamp on it that sometimes rubs against the intake hose. I always reposition the clamp so this problem doesn't occur for the owners.

You really need to be able to read the error messages from the ECU.  I suggest either take it to a specialist and connect it to a Fiat Examiner, or if you're keen to DIY then looking into multiecuscan and a suitable cable.  Without knowing what the ECU thinks is wrong, you're in the dark.

On our 2006 159 2.4 JTDm we've had two 'limp mode' causes in the past.  One was the intake manifold being full of soot (due to EGR issues), and the swirl valves becoming blocked and not able to sweep their full range of motion.  The actuator then triggers and alarm which puts the car into limp mode.  This was essentially cured using an intake cleaner that is sprayed in via the throttle body.  The fault was easy to diagnose with the computer.

The other limp mode we had was more tricky - the computer displayed about 20 faults all in different components of the engine: swirl flaps, throttle body, EGR, DPF etc.  Turned out it was a 20c fuse blown.

Good luck!
