I'm a Newbie. Just getting this message as soon as I start the car "Motor System Failure. Contact Dealer". Its a 2004 156 Selespeed. Does anyone know about a good & reliable mechanic in Perth who can fix this issue? Also how much it gonna cost me?
Thanks

it could be one of many things. the only way to know what it is, and how much it will cost is to take it to a garage that can connect to the computer to diagnose the problem.

I have no ideas on where to take it over in the west, but find an independant Alfa Romeo Service Provider, with the Alfa - Fiat scan tools and have it checked out, it is important to find out what the problem is, as opposed to guesswork.
Being a 2,004 JTS, odds on favourite will be the 4 oxygen sensors starting to go bad, Colin.

Cileberti Motors in Osborne Park. As Col mentioned, most likely faults are O2 sensors , coil packs or cat system. It can be a real pain as mine kept doing it until I got rid of the car :(
