Hello fellow alfisti! First time posting here

I took my car out this afternoon and noticed that when I returned home and put car into reverse one of the parking sensors was going bananas even though there was nothing behind me as yet. Once parked I had a closer look and it seems one of the sensors has fallen out of the hole in the rear of my vehicle? Just wondering if that has ever happened to anyone else. Would it happen whilst driving or would it physically have to be removed? I now have to look into getting a single sensor replaced?

Any thoughts on this strange situation?

Hello Franky, and welcome to the forum, has the sensor fallen out and is missing, or has it fallen into the inside of the bumper?
If it has fallen into the back of the bumper, you may be able to 'fish' it out with some wire, if not, you will have to remove the bumper to get at it.
The sensors have a spring clip on the outside, so that when pushed in they 'snap' in place.
You will have to work out first, if it is a Genuine Alfa Romeo reverse sensor kit or an after market kit.
If you have a Genuine kit, then to replace the sensor, then you will have to get one of the right colour, you could get a Genuine Alfa Romeo sensor and have it painted.
Or you could go to a Alfa Romeo parts recycler, like Monza Motors in Bayswater and see if they have the right colour sensor.
If your car is a white Guilietta, then see Alex Donnini at Donnini Motors, as they have a white one there.
If it is an after market kit, then you will have to go to a accessory specialist and find out what type of kit you have, and take it from there, Colin.

Ciao colin. Thanks for the warm welcome  8)

It's happened on my giulietta QV, so it's a genuine kit. I've stuck my fingers in/lied underneath the vehicle to have a look and it just seems to have completely disappeared. I'm presuming all of the sensors are wired up to the same unit so I'm a bit baffled as to how one whole sensor has magically unplugged and fallen out  ???

I get my cars looked after by Sebastian at Mauceri motors so I will have to give him a call and see what he thinks. I'm not really in the mood for removing my own bumper and risking messing up other things haha
