Sadly, there are some bad people out there.

Fellow VHRR member and racer Jay Bondini has, unfortunately, had his race car and trailer stolen.

Please help if you come across this.

================================
Hi all,

The locks on the factory gates were cut and my trailer Rego Number T39795 containing my Rennmax Brabham was stolen last night from Rowville VIC.
Can you please keep an eye out for it and if you see it can you contact the Police or me on 0438438093.
Regards
Jay Bondini

Very sad indeed. I do hope it turns up in one piece.

Couldn't help myself and looked up Rennmax on the interweb. What a fascinating story!

Message from Jay and a bit of history of his Rennmax.

It would be a real tragic to all if it is dumped and burnt.  The low life perpetrator should be hanged, drawn and quartered.

I wish Jay all the best and the recovery.

==============================================
Hi All,
Just an update to my heartache there is no news at all as to the whereabouts of the trailer and car. I would like to thank everyone for their kind comments and efforts to help recover the Rennmax, Please keep up the good work.  A bit of history about the car as some may not be a where.
Bob only made 4 sports cars in total mine is number one it was rear ended in we think its 2nd outing and rebuilt with a Repco engine number RB740 E16C out of Leo Geoghegans Lotus 39 and previously used by Sir Jack Brabham in 1967. After a long racing history in the hands of 1970 – 1972 with Doug McArthur 1972 – 1975 Barry Norman Randall and the Gibson family from 1975 - 2011I purchased the car it had been sitting for many years and it took a team of very talented very good friends 12 months and a hell of a lot of money to rebuild the car to the state it is in. This is the only one in the world with a Repco engine fitted and is very rare .
The Police think that there is little chance of getting it back in one piece and think it will be dumped and burnt. The only chance is to find the Trailer, so please help by keeping an open eye for it and relay the information to as many as we can.
Thanking every one very much
Regards
Jay Bondini

Message from Jay.

Again the yahoo's need to be hung and quartered.

=============================
Hi Team,
Here's an update on the condition of the Rennmax from Jay....

Hi Grant,
I have finally had a chance to go over some of the car and it does not look good.
It was run and it is covered in mud and gravel .
The half shafts are bent and broken and the cars rims are bent on the right hand side rear where it has hit something.
The front RH side is sitting up 15 mm and the chassis may be bent and the alloy under tray is bent.
The wheels are pointing the wrong way, bent front end.
The rack looks bent but will have to have it looked at.
The bodywork will have to be repaired and fully repainted.
A new rear wing will be required as the old one is bent in the centre.
Gearbox and clutch will have to be inspected and tested as will all of the uprights and arms.
A new radiator and duct will have to be made.
The engine looks like it was cooked and it has no water in it.
A lot of small parts have been removed and it looks like they were going to paint it.
So basically a full rebuild from the ground up.
Grant I would very much appreciate it if you could pass on my heartfelt thanks for all the help, support, positive comments and thoughts it was a great help knowing that I was not alone throughout this ordeal.
It goes to show us how close the different motor racing groups actually are.
Thanks Again
Jay Bondini

Ditto from me, this has been a really interesting exercise, especially the support from all the recipients (about 1700 in all). I mentioned to someone it's been like a death in the family. At least he's got it back!

I thought it was simply dumped out of the trailer and thats it, car recovered. Looks like they hooned the crap out of it then dumped it. My god, what a$$ monkeys. Ruined an amazing race car. Hate hate hate reading things like this.

Although it could be worse it's great so see the car is back. I feel for Jay though,  now having to fork out another small fortune to bring it back to glory.

When they apprehend the culprits,  they should be charged with destroying Australian motoring history.

It is amazing how these brainless morons think they are reincarnations of Fangio or Peter Brock, when in fact they have no driving skills whatsoever. They always seem top spin cars out and bend axles etc. It happened to my brother's VW many years ago. What can you do with vandals like that? Perhaps the police should be allowed to pile up all these idiots' favourite things and make them watch them being destroyed.
