Title: 2012 Alec Mildren Trophy
Post by: alfagtv58 on November 12, 2012, 01:00:27 PM
Well, Historic Sandown marked the last event for the 2012 AROCA Vic Alec Mildren Trophy.

And congratulations to Neil Choi for taking out this years trophy  ;D

Neil has just got better and better as the year progressed, and is now putting in some terrific lap times and getting some great race results.  An expired engine at the 6 Hour might have got the better of some competitors, but not Neil, rebuilt (twice) just in time for Historic Sandown and he did exactly what he needed to do to come away with the silverware!

We have had some new faces in this years pointscore, which is great to see, and a special mention to Dom Chaleyer who went storming up the chart in the last two events of the year.....watch out next year!

Phil,

He only rebuilt it twice because the first time it didn't make enough power as yours  ;D

Well done Neil, you've been doing some great times this year.  Congratulations mate.

Must be time to put away the Neil's Big Book of Racing Excuses.

Good job Neil, couldn't have gone to a nicer guy. How you finds the time to do racing, run the Club Competition events, satisfy family commitments and still have a smile on your face is credit to you.

From north of the boarder, well done Neil. It takes a fair bit of commitment, expense and luck to win a championship and you got it all. While it is good to have a fast car, the important thing is to finish, and the points add up. Also i have been impressed with Dom's or as we have named her up here, Danica's performance, she gets better every outing. Watch out boys, i hear she has an appetite for suds now.

I wasn't going to comment as I am somewhat highly embarrassed and surprised.  Thank you all, but yes it was tough work to get the car to the start line.  Without boring all with a story, it is just best to thank those who donated their time and lent a huge hand to get the car there.

Hugh Harrison of Monza Motors.

Vin Sharp of PACE Engineering.

Paul Chaleyer and Michael Ponchard of Historic and Vintage Restorations.

Mick Aarons lent his assistance on Sunday.

Regards
Neil
