Where's a good (cheap) place to stay up there? Any camping grounds?
I think I stayed at the "Benalla Motor Village" caravan park once - about $40 for a cabin. 03 5762 3434. You should be able to camp out there also for cheaper.
Otherwise the benalla haven or benalta have rooms for about $65 a night. I should recommend the Top of the Town as they are a club sponsor (http://www.alfaclubvic.org.au/content/view/20/33/) but you were asking for cheaper accomodation.
