Hi All
Just started to revive my 1979 Alfetta GTV 2000 after 5 years in storage
I'll take some better pics when I have sorted the brakes

ohh Nice!
Welcome and we hope you join your local club so as to have some excused to get this car out on the road and seen.
What are your plans? - restoraiton, Group S, road registered club day track car?
Plenty of people accros AROCA OZ with experience in these cars so you will have a wealth of support if you have any issues or needs.
Last year I brought a 1979 GTV back from a 16 year sleep. Hugh Harrison at Monza Motors has been really good source to help with some of those hard to get missing parts ( ie a twin spark motor ). He has all the other bits to.
Cheers
GUlly
hoping to get it road registered ASAP, will be joining AROC NSW division shortly
Have replaced clutch and brake master cylinders
Putting new seals in calipers at the moment
got a set of braided brake lines
replaced dash with one without cracks
installed 123 ignition
I'm after a set of lowered, firmer rear springs at the moment
thanks for the welcome

Fetta GTV,

Gully
Got some new rear springs
All the brakes are now sorted
fiddling with the curves on the 123 ignition to get it running a little smoother
just fixing rust in spare wheel well (only thing that was a problem on the Blue Slip)
Pic attached
Cheers

This pic might be better

Nice!
I owned a 1979 Alfetta GTV and it simply dissolved into a pile of rust in my driveway. It was riddled with tin-worm. I've currently got another 1979 GTV Group S car and when it was completely stripped it showed very little rust which has of course now been completely removed.
They are fantastic cars and you should get many years of enjoyment from it.

Its only got a few bits of rust
Someone had put a rubber mat under the spare and I think this held in the moisture

G'day,
looks very sharp, Fetta, and nice ride height, too!
We'll have our annual 116 register get-together in few months time - just in case you're up for a trip to Sydney!

Let me know when and I'll try to come up
Maybe you can do a run down the coast a bit

that is a no brainer ! resounding YES from me ! The car looks fantastic and that little bit better with the serpent !
Fetta Gtv,
Great to finally catch up at Phillip Island and see you & your car. Sometimes you can be disappointed seeing a car in the flesh after veiwing a 15 feet a way photo. Yours was the exact opposite . Great to see another SS bumpered Alfetta going around.
Cheers
Gully
Thanks Gully
I was very impressed with your alfetta
Its a great looking car in silver and was great to watch on the track
Did you do the twinspark conversion yourself?
Hope to catch up again soon
Do you get to Wakefield Park very often?
Cheers
Fetta GTV
Fetta GTV,Hugh Harrison at Monza Motors in Bayswater did the twin spark conversion. It was just drop it off one week and pick it up the next. Haven't had any problems and a very professional job. I'm really only doing the AROCA Vic sprints, but after the turn out at Phillip Island ,if they planned something like that again interstate i would be in like a flash.
Hard to believe it's been 11 years
Gtv has been off the road for quite a while again.
Just had full engine rebuild and engine bay re-painted
In the process of putting it all back together
Another pic
That's sensational. Must be like turning 21 again
Bit more progress
