running the air con while racing... lovely. :)
Great to see the Alfas' doing so well at Bathurst, as we might well expect.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Reading through the 2009 post race report was just like reading the post race reports from 1964 and 1965 when the Mildren Team's Ti Super won the first two Sandown Six Hour races in a canter with a trouble-free run both years.

Yes indeed, a great result.
However, it's pretty easy to win when you're in a class of one (159), or a class of two (147) when the other car doesn't finish.
Hey
Winners are grinners and the rest can please themselves.
Who ever remembers who ran second in anything

I was wondering how long it was going to be before someone mentioned that the diesel class was not exactly oversubscribed. Still, i rekon in production car racing this will be a hotly contested class in the future and good on Alfa Romeo to get in at ground level.

;D
I still can't help thinking a diesel Alfa Romeo is a bit like painting a moustache on the Mona Lisa
One of the funniest things was in the 2007 race when Holden entered a Diesel Astra against the 159, and about half way into the race the Astra blew up big time. It parked on mountain straight with the bonnet up and smoke billowing from the engine bay....it parked right under the banner for the Alfa 159, as the 159 cruised on by!!!
Were FIAT making the GM diesels at that stage? (Maybe not till late 2007)
If they had been there might have been a similar Italian engine in both the Holden and the Alfa Romeo?!??
Anyone know?
