Title: Propshaft alignment bearings
Post by: festy on August 13, 2021, 12:45:47 PM
I pulled my propshaft to replace the center giubo and support bearing, and found I'm missing the outer race of one of the alignment bearings  :o
At least that explains the driveline vibrations I guess...

Does anyone know of a generic spherical bearing that will fit?
SKF GE12E looks like a close match, but its OD might be about 0.3mm too large?

I ususually take my bearings to the bearing shop and say "match this please", and they have an excellent strike rate so far. Although, you might not be able to do that right now... Sorry, that probably doesn't help much!  ::)

Check inside the other half inside the boot its probably still in there
which means the other side is
a) worn away( send photo)
b) its seized in the other side and its still worn down

Answering my own question, it looks like the GE12E is a good match.

(and in case anyone stumbles across this thread one day searching for center support bearings, the 52mm version takes a 6205)

No issues at all - it was a perfect fit and as far as I can tell an exact match for the OEM spherical bearing.
