Title: 156 2.0 Twin Spark rear main seal
Post by: Henry156 on July 19, 2021, 09:40:41 PM
Hi. I'm replacing the clutch and concentric slave cylinder on my 156 2.0 Twin Spark manual and as it's done 240,000 km was wondering if I should replace the rear main seal while it's in pieces? (And wow is it in pieces). I've removed the flywheel and can see a very slight seeping which I would definitely not call a leak. Is replacing the rear main a relatively straight forward job? I can only see 5 bolts into the block and 2 up through the sump but not sure if it would seal again without removing or at least dropping the sump a few millimeters. Or do I just leave it alone.? Any help or guidance would be very much appreciated.

Thanks Bazzbazz. Any tips on putting the new rear main seal in? Do I have to drop the sump first? Cheers.
