Title: Maintaining paint on a 159/Brera
Post by: WTBalfabrera on June 30, 2021, 08:50:59 PM
Hi, I have a 3.2 Brera in silver.

The car is great and I have no issues other than every time I drive it I get new stone chips. Does anyone else have the same problem?

It seems the paint is either too thin or too soft. I was wondering if anyone has found a solution to this problem. Is there any kind of protective clear coat I can have put on if I get it detailed?

Cheers.

I know some places do provide such things, but not sure if there are any prerequisites in terms of the car needing to be detailed first.

I'm also interested, since I have to park mine outdoors.

I use Dr. COLORCHIP for all the stone chips  and meguiars hybrid ceramic wax for paint protection

you can get it wrapped in clear paint protection film. its not that cheap though.

Thanks for the help. I think I'll look at getting a ceramic coat put on. I'll get a quote for it and see how much it costs. Hopefully if the tax fairy is good this year I can get it done soon, otherwise I'll have to wait till the end of the year.

I'll let you all know how much it costs and after it's done if it does actually work.

ceramic coat wont provide much if any stone chip protectin. its primarily for swirl and scratch protection. only a PPF will provide meaningful stone chip protection
