I'm in the market for some new rubber for my 159.
Currently there's a rag tag set of 245/40 fitted from previous owner. However I noticed in the book it says 235/40 is standard. Is there any appreciable difference in handling/performance between the two? I'd imagine the narrower tyres fitted at standard might make low speed handling a bit more comfortable
Does anyone have any strong feelings on brand? I was thinking of getting Pilot Sport 4's, but stock has proven difficult to come by in my location. My budget is around $300 a tyre.
Cheers
Try the following link for Michelin tyres (Primacy 4 or Pilot Sport 4) for your V6 159. The link also provides location of dealers in your area.

Recently changed to Uni Royal RainSport, 235/45/18, having previously run on P Zero 235/40/18. Took them on my mechs recommendation. The extra height made a tremendous difference to comfort, and in particular road noise. They didn't damage the pocket too much either.
Ended up getting some Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 050 at a decent price. 235/40R19 (exactly what the book says). Waaaay nicer to drive than the 245/40's that were fitted before.
