Methinks Mr Musk would be very happy to accept $ from FCA to offset carbon emissions from vehicle OPERATION
As I understand it, no one including Tesla is yet manufacturing profitable FULL electric vehicles.
Factor in the carbon footprint of MANUFACTURING and RECYCLING electric vehicles and Mr Musk may need to send much of that $ back to FCA!?!
Well summarised Colin.
The entire electric transportation for the foreseeable future is flawed. Attempts to skew reality is in progress. In the real world, the electricity grid infrastructure never anticipated such a load demand. Imagine if you will, no internal combustion power and all means of transport depending on an electrical charge up. The entire planet would need to be rewired and a 24/7 base load provided by what? Wind and solar? There wouldn't be enough residual power to charge up your electric tooth brush.
