Title: Alfa 147 Clutch losing pressure
Post by: Diamond Ric T on February 22, 2020, 05:58:06 PM
Good day forum members. When I bought my ALFA 147 three years ago, it had a problem. The clutch pedal went straight to the floor and only returned because of the spring behind the dash. That is how I got it. That afternoon I slowly worked the pedal back and forth for about 10 minutes. Bingo! - it came to life. The car has served me well since then. Yesterday the same thing happened - and I fixed it in the same way. There is no leaking fluid. Is there any reader who could suggest what is going on here. I - especially - would like to know. Regards, Ric T.

I would say you are getting air in the system somehow, either through the Master or Slave Cylinder.

Is the fluid in brake fluid reservoir staying at a constant level? (Indicating a leak somewhere)

Is there any brake fluid dripping from under the Gearbox housing? (Indicating a leaking Slave Cylinder, but only if it's a bad leak)
