Title: 156 V6 Exhaust Flange Config
Post by: Beatle on September 23, 2019, 05:55:02 PM
On my 156 V6, at the two exhaust flanges immediately downstream of the cats, should there be two sets of three studs/nuts, or a combination of studs and bolts?

Mine has 3 studs in one flange, and one stud plus two bolts in the other.

I thought bolts may be fitted, either OEM or by a PO, to facilitate easier removal of the flex pipe section.

I have spare studs to install if that's the correct configuration.

Hey Paul,

Should be all studs. They often break so people either replace with a bolt or drill it out and use a nut & bolt. Either way is fine.

Mick.

Thanks Mick.
Having all bolts and nuts is not a bad idea.  Makes it much easier to change damaged hardware in future and saves a set of manifold-to-head gaskets.....
