Title: Stitched up!!
Post by: bazzbazz on December 20, 2018, 05:26:20 AM
Ok, here is something scary I came across on the Alfa Workshop site.

The Auxilliary Belt of the 2.0 Giulia's are STITCHED together in 2 places!!!!   :o

As Clarkson would say . . . . "What could possibly go wrong?"   ::)

What belt through yonder cover breaks?  :P

Probably nothing, if you live in a mild climate, change the belt on time, and keep all rolling/tensioning elements in good repair. Oh, wait...  ::)

Like an Apple customer, I would point out the beauty of the stitching.  It must be right because Apple Alfa did it.

Broken Down Alfa Driver - "That bloody accessory belt broke and stranded me here for hours!"
Recovery Service Driver -  " Yes, but look at that gorgeous stitching, it's gotta be worth the hassle."

(Note - Recovery driver was found murdered on side of remote road, garroted by accessory belt with gorgeous stitching!)

The water pump drive for some race karts use "O" material cut to the correct length and glued together to form a "belt".  We never had one fail!

The attached photo of a vee belt for the 75 has three "joints"!
