Title: 2015 Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio Verde Guiletta Upgrades?
Post by: Choogz on August 18, 2018, 02:01:58 PM
Hey Guys,

Just  recently purchased this beauty below in NSW and was wondering if they're any upgrades which would benefit the car performance wise or cosmetically?

I was considering a stage 1 tune but I don't know how the Alfa Romeo's handle that kind of work so would love some insight

Suspension any other upgrades which I should look into or parts that would benefit the car

Hi bcurko
Congratulations on your new acquisition and we probably might run into each other as I am a stone throw away. Anyway for a simple and quite inexpensive performance upgrade of around 25kW, I would be looking at remapping the ECU. There a several options available from specialist carrying out this service, thru to tuning boxes controlled from the phone or personal OBD programmers. There are various suppliers of this equipment, which can be easily found on the net.  Additionally, you can find more information on this forum at the following thread.

Kerb feelers?

More seriously, what about driving it for a while to see what feels like it could be done better?

What's a "stage 1 tune"?

I'd be happy to get mine mapped so that N became D, and D became the remap.  I'm not aware of anybody in Aust. who can map the QV properly or handle the selector.  Then again, I've not looked for a while.  I'd be inclined to ship my ECU to the UK and have them do it, but the car is actually giving me shits so I'm not talking to it at the moment....

If there is a reputable remap avail, I'm all ears too

I'm literally asking for some 1st hand experience around other owners and to see what they've done to improve the car cosmetically or performance wise.

Nothing wrong with asking the question to maximise the cars full potential is it?

Twenty-odd years ago I bought an "aspirational" car, and then spent far too much following the prescribed wisdoms or unofficial rules. In terms of what I actually would have been happiest with, it qualified as a true WOFTAM.

So I make my comments in light of not wanting to see people spend money they're unlikely to get good returns on.

I've installed stiffer (Powerflex) polyurethane rear anti roll bar bushes in our QV.  Tends to dial out understeer a tad.
Next step will be to progressively fit polyurethane bushes to the front end.  These will allow adjustment of camber and caster.  The QV handles ok, however a stiffer rear and a little negative camber at the front won't hurt.
