Seems like an unnecessarily long time between drinks to me - especially with a Jeep guy now in charge.
Hold up....
There's a new GTV? And a new 8C!!???!?!?!?!?!
I thought it was just rumored and not actually confirmed.
The 8C looks very similar to the new Ford GT with some Laferrari mixed into it.
Andrew.
I think they missed a trick with the new 8C - if that is how it will look. As you say, just looks like a mix of Ford GT and LaFerrari - surely would be better to build a proper front engined GT car to provide an alternative to the Maserati GT, or Ferrari F12 (only cheaper?).
Renders by the magazine, not anybody associated with Alfa.
Is there any mention of when AR might unveil a car at one of the motor shows?
I hope it looks even half as good as those renders.
I'll get excited once I see an actual photo.
But a 2 door Giulia is surly a winning formula, and one they can't stuff up?
Oh no wait.......
"Lower-powered, cheaper GTV models will be available too; last time round there was a choice of V6 or Twin Spark four-cylinder engines. Expect lower-rung GTVs to come with rear-wheel drive, rather than AWD."
That confirms what I'd thought I'd read somewhere else. That while the Giulia is a RWD world beater, for some reason the "sports coupe" version will be ........AWD?
WHY?
My concern with the long wait til launch in 2021 is that it gives Mr Jeep three years to decide he would rather spend the money on fat-arse Americans by building more 2 tonne 4WD Super-Slurpee Cup Holders than a world beating coupe.
I'd be more worried if something like the new 8C was produced very quickly!
The 4C's CF tub is made by Dallara. Fair chance the 8C tub will also be CF and made by Dallara. No second chances with that technology. Must get it right the first time or not at all.
A modern Tipo 33 Stradale. Now that WOULD be worth waiting for!

Err... It says the lower rung (POV pack variants) will be RWD (your quote)?
In other news, Alfa hasn't announced jackshit, other than the usual CEO PowerPoint describing new models. Magazine click bait

Yes.....my point exactly.
Why is the "povo pack" the one with RWD, and the Turbo V6 the one with AWD?
Exactly my point.
But I agree 100%, it's speculative click bait BUT this is not the only place I've seen the AWD rumour.
And I'll say it again.... "Brera anyone?"
Sure...the Brera is a fine car in it's own way, but a GTV it is not.
What's a GTV....
and this... :)
Choice photo there John.
My Silver GTV is in the background :D Pasta Run 2015 was it? I had the GTV and the 147 there that year.
But anyway.....No no no!!!!
THIS..... See......from the way I parked it it LOOKS like it's RWD :P
(I knew the conversation would go this way as soon as I started ranting about drivetrain but anyway)
btw back on topic, would I be right in saying that the 937 GT looks more "GTV" than the 916 did? (if comparing to 70's and 80's Alfettas I mean).
Ha, was from a club run a couple of years back. But think it was 2016, so maybe run to York motor show or something?
Just checked photo records, October 2016.

Itll be pasta run. That's my car, and that's Midland gate in the background I'm pretty sure.
Ah and actually it was 2015 I had both cars there. 2016 was the year me and a mate turned up (mate was in a black Breda) with the intention of following for a while and then peeling off and heading to a pub..... And of course we got lost taking a line of about 5 cars, including Bruno in his white Lamborghini gallardo with us haha.
