Title: swirl valves 159 1.9 jtd
Post by: phri on March 15, 2018, 09:14:18 AM
I have some ticking noise in my engine, and noise seems to increase when the engine is warm. Also sounds seems to come clearly from the inlet manifold.

As the car has done 130,000 km and is up for a timing belt change, when I am on that I consider to take out the swirl valves as that seems to be common that these play up.

Now I have never done this before, and I am looking for instructions for a 'newer' 1.9 with the plastic inlet manifold (I have done a timing belt on an 159 before).

Are the swirl valves hard to do, do I need special tools? any tips will be very much appreciated.
