Title: 95 or 98 fuel
Post by: mygiulietta on January 21, 2018, 07:07:15 PM
Hey all from Perth

Im the very proud dad of G progression (non multiair) 1.4 T manual.

Owners manual says 95 RON NOTHING LOWER , I've always used 98 in past Alfa's - is it ok to continue with 98? I don't want any nasty problems.

Thanks !

Hi mygiulietta
I would be using 95 RON if that is what AR recommends. The 98 higher octane rating MIGHT give you slightly better fuel economy and performance, but the additional cost per litre is not cost effective, ie; why pay for champagne if sparkling wine will do (refer to the following link on this topic).

Hello and thanks for the article - a good read! I am happy to continue with 98 as long as it does not cause any damage - , I drive my Alfas hard (grew up in Italy 😁 so any extra "zing" is welcome 🤩
