Looking at replacing the stock radio - seems to require a new facia & kit ~$700 before you even factor in cost of radio itself - anyone done this cheaper

I would ask a car audio dealer.
I bought a nice Pioneer head unit for my 159. The kit for the 159 was relatively cheap.
