Hi I seem to have lost the earth from the steering column for the horn button, (1976 GT) has any one else experienced this, if so what is the fix

It's been awhile and i'll have to double check on the shell in my garage, but i seem to remember a small 3mm or small braided wire with a eyelet on each end the gets screwed between the two peaces of steering column...it brakes after many years. but the horn sometimes still works when holding full lock. Is simple to make another wire. Scrap of wire, two eye terminals and crimps(or pliers)
