Title: 1980 GTV - fuel leak
Post by: kartone on February 11, 2017, 11:50:13 AM
Yikes! Noticed during the week fuel dripping from the bottom half of the pump.
Hoses & hose connections are OK, is the pump serviceable?

Hi
If the fuel pump is stuffed, then you will need to replace entire unit with either a mechanical one or fit electronic unit. The mechanical pump is a sealed unit and is not repairable (refer to extract of maintenance publication). If you decide to go electronic then there will be some work involving blanking plate, fitting new electronic pump and wiring.

Cheers

Thanks guys. As the original Fispa 4055-03 is not serviceable I will replace it with another mechanical pump to keep the car as authentic as possible, any idea where to buy one?

I've got a spare pump that you can have for the cost of postage if you can't find a new one, it was working fine when removed.
