Title: Lancia Castlemaine rally 2015 Oct 17-18
Post by: pasey25 on October 16, 2015, 11:46:44 AM
Just a reminder to italian car fans that the biennial Lancia rally in Castlemaine is on again this weekend.

Saturday is a day of touring for those who wish to register (am sure you can do so on the day)

from the newsletter:
On Saturday morning the tour will leave from
the Western Oval (close to the Castlemaine
Market) about 10.00am. There will be a
morning tea stop at the Bienvenu Church, 600
James Lane, East Trentham (just down the road
from the Pig and Whistle Pub) at 10.30am. This
could be a good meeting point for people
leaving Melbourne on Saturday morning.

Lunch is being held at the historic property,
Bringlebit, 512 Sidonia Road, Kyneton, at 12
noon. After lunch we will be addressed by our
Guest of Honour, Geoffrey Goldberg, on
Francesco De Virgilio, his place in the Lancia
'family' and his wonderful V6 Aurelia engine.
The owner will be pleased to conduct tours of
the house and garden.

Sunday the cars will be on display at the Western Oval in Caslemaine from 12pm.

from the newsletter:
On Sunday, after gathering at the Western Oval,
we leave for a short tour at 9.30 so we can
return to the Western Oval for lunch by 12
noon. The tour will be to The Morris Minor
Garage, an interesting museum based mostly on
Morris Minors from the early 30s. Morning
coffee with cakes will be served. The address is
Ford Road, Harcourt. Entrance fee and morning
coffee is $15.

Lunch can be purchased from a Pizza food truck
or the Barbecue run by the local Chewton Pool
Community group. All profit will go towards
preventing the Council closing the swimming
pool.
During the afternoon our cars will be on display.
We have invited other Italian car clubs to join us
and they will be allocated their own area to
display their cars. There are usually about 100
Lancias entered covering a wide range of
models, including many Lambdas and other prewar
cars.

A number of Peninsula Alfisti, along with Goldfield members will meet at the Moto Bean Cafe Malmsbury on Sunday morning at 10.00am. All are welcome.
We will then form a Alfa convoy to the Western Oval Castlemaine for the Lunch Time display.
