Title: Replacing the alfa 147 number plate globe assembly
Post by: frangutz on June 26, 2015, 11:40:24 AM
Hey,

I've managed to get the number plate globe assembly out. Replaced the globe. But not I can't get it back in :-(

I've read around and see that I'm supposed to bend the metal clip on the right of the assembly. Not sure which way to bend it. Anybody know how to do it?

F.

Its a long time since i done the one on the 156, which looks similar to a 147, there is a plastic 'leg' that hooks in the aperture, then there is a metal spring clip, that clips in the aperture and holds it in.
You may have broken off the plastic 'leg' that holds the globe assembly in as you have to prise down the spring clip side to let one side of the globe assembly out, then you just pull the globe assembly out.
The spring clip may have to be bent outwards to increase its holding power.
Try and google the number plate globe assembly and see if you come up with a picture, which will be a lot clearer than this appalling waffle, Colin.
